Faculty Athletic Fellows Program
In Fall 2004 the Athletic Study Center launched the Faculty Athletic Fellows Program where interested faculty are matched with one of the 27 intercollegiate athletic teams. The main goal of this program is to enhance the faculty/student athlete relationship thus strengthening the student athlete ideal while reinforcing the educational mission of the university.

Faculty Night
Each spring, the ASC holds Faculty Night to bring freshmen student athletes and selected faculty members together in small, lively discussion groups.  This experience fosters open communication between students and faculty outside the classroom setting.

Peers Peer Advising
Peer Advisors give academic and campus life guidance to new intercollegiate athletes and assist in developing programs to further address the needs of student athletes.  Much of their contribution is based on their own experiences as student athletes at Cal as well as in their capacity to empathize, communicate and understand their peers' problems and concerns.

Career Development Programs

Career Resource Links Web-Site
We have a Resource web-site with links to research and short-term job opportunities that are organized by school/career objectives.

Big C Career Night: February
In a series of panels, student athletes are given the opportunity to listen, question, interact, and meet with Cal alumni who are professionals in a variety of career areas.  Several career development workshops are also offered in the areas of finding summer jobs and internships, interview strategies, and resume writing.

General Campus Services
The UC Berkeley Career Center is a complete resource center for career related information and listings.  Student paid/non-paid position listings may be accessed via the Internet at: jobs.berkeley.edu.  They are also listed at CGSS, 2111 Bancroft Way, Room 101.  Career job listings are available in the Resource Center, Room 212.

Counseling & Psychological Services (CPS)
Students at Cal often struggle with decisions about their major or a specific career path.  If you are confused about your career direction, testing can be a useful tool.  Throughout the fall semester, CPS offers, free of charge, a variety of assessment tests and workshops to student at all levels (freshmen through graduate school).  These programs will help you to identify skills, interest, values and personality traits.

For more information and to enroll, go to the Counseling and Psychological Testing office, Room 3242, Tang Center or call 510-642-9494.

Grad School Assistance
Step by Step is a comprehensive guide to getting ready for graduate school for Berkeley undergraduates in the arts, humanities and social sciences.

Summer Programs

Summer Bridge Adjunct Program
ASC offers a six-week Summer Bridge adjunct program for student athletes to ease the transition from high school to college.  This special program provides support through tutoring, group workshops, individual academic advising, personal counseling, advising seminars and computer training.  To encourage an enjoyable and worthwhile Bridge experience, we require student athletes in the adjunct to participate in all aspects of the program.  With its comprehensive approach to learning, Summer Bridge gives participants a head-start for the Fall term.

Freshman Orientation
Every June, the ASC invites incoming freshman student athletes and their parents to attend a day-long orientation during which they learn university and campus requirements, meet the ASC staff, and hear about campus life from some of Cal's current student athletes.  Freshmen also meet with advisors to plan their Fall academic schedules.  Our orientation gives student athletes and their parents a unique introduction to campus life at Berkeley and to the student athlete experience.

Other Programs

Degree Completion Program
ASC's Degree Completion Program accommodates former student athletes who, for one reason or another, have had their academic career interrupted.
