Stephen Johnson

After ten years of a remarkable basketball career in the Professional European Basketball League,
Stephen has been back to the Berkeley campus to finish what he started as a teenager.
Stephen is a model Athlete, for his excellence is not limited to his sport but extended well
into his academic and personal endeavors. He was awarded the NCAA Degree Completion Scholarship
Award while completing his undergraduate course work. Currently he serves as an Academic Advisor
in the ASC, and is currently in the UCB's School
of Education, pursuing a Master's Degree.

Kato Serwanga

After an outstanding seven year career as a Defensive Back in the NFL for the New England Patriots,
Washington Red Skins, and New York Giants, Kato has come back to Berkeley to earn his Bachelors Degree
in Sociology, and is currently in the UCB's School of Education, pursuing a Master's Degree.

Christyna Serrano
Track and Field

Christyna was primarily a 400m hurdler but also competed in the long sprints and relays.
Christyna has been back for three semesters and is currently in the last stages of completing
her undergraduate requirements while preparing for graduate school.

Nate DeSomber
Football, Track and Field

|
Nate brought much success for the Cal Track And Field squad as an all American shot putter.
He posted remarkable marks in major competitions and duel meets. He also earned a Pac-10
Championship title and qualified for the NCAA championships as a senior. During his time away
from Berkeley, Nate pursued other interests and established his own small business as a chef
and massage therapist. He also coached at City College of San Francisco while fulfilling his
undergraduate degree requirements prior to returning to the Berkeley campus. Nate has
successfully earned his Bachelor's Degree and in the process gained a new passion for academics.
He is currently in the process of applying to graduate school.

Amit Tamir

While playing professionally in Europe, Amit has decided to devote his off season to the completion
of his degree requirements. He has come back to Berkeley for the first time in the summer of 2007
and has made a smooth transition back into the groove of academics.

Chidi Ahanotu
Football

|
Chidi spent most of his ten year NLF career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but also played for the
St. Louis Rams, Buffalo Bills, and the San Francisco 49ers. After a long and successful NFL career,
Chidi is in the process of completing his Physical Education/Human Bio Dynamics Degree under the
Integrated Biology Department.

Nnamdi Asomugha
Football

Nnamdi is currently playing for the Oakland Raiders and thus far has proven to be one of the best
cornerback in the league. Although fully committed to his athletic career and has gained much
success as a result, Nnamdi did not forego his academic commitments. He returned to the Berkeley
campus in his time off and successfully earned his Bachelors Degree.

Zech Whittington

|
Zech was a football and track and field athlete at Cal. Although his football career cut short
due to injury, he remained an asset to the Track team as a hammer thrower. Zech has managed to
overcome several set backs on the road back to completing and pursuing his academics once gain.
He has been awarded the NCAA Degree Completion Scholarship.

Chris Huffins

Chris was one of the most decorated cal track student athlete and managed to maintain that trend
of excellence throughout his professional career. He was a two time Olympian, bronze medalist,
and has been a member of many U.S. National teams, as well as two time national champion. Chris
topped his career by retuning to Cal to help revive the Track and Field program. He helped to
furnish the team with some of the best athletes in the country, training facilities and leadership.
