Position: Lab Monitor
Overview
The Athletic Study Center maintains a computer lab for use by student athletes and other students.
The Lab Monitor helps to maintain a study atmosphere in the lab,
helping students with basic computer problems and assisting in maintaining the lab equipment
(printer, systems, copier).
Will also aid staff by performing clerical duties such as data entry,
phones and other administrative projects as needed.
Hiring
The hiring process begins at the end of each semester and continues into the start of the semester
until all hours are filled.
The hours for the lab monitors are Mon to Fri, 9am to 5pm.

Scheduling preference is given first to returning Lab Monitors,
then to new applicants that have Work-Study awards.
Responsibilities
Keep the lab clean, organized, and quiet.
Help students with basic computer-type questions regarding applications such as Microsoft Word,
Excel and Powerpoint.
Assist with problems related to computer hardware.
Help staff with basic office-type tasks.
Manage one or more simple projects that require data-entry and summary skills
(such as simple sum fields in an Excel spreadsheet).
Qualifications
Good interpersonal communication skills. Experienced with Microsoft Office applications.
Pay
Lab Monitors are paid $10.01 per hour.
Training
The Lab Monitor will be trained on basic troubleshooting techniques for the labs' equipment.
