Advises and assists student athletes (active, inactive, and former including Degree Completion Candidates) towards holistic development, including academic options and alternatives while understanding and complying with University, College, and NCAA rules and requirements. Provides tailored academic counseling to maximize student athlete potential and academic performance while balancing athletic and personal commitments.
Heather was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and grew up in Boylston, Massachusetts and Palo Alto, California. She began her undergraduate studies at UCLA as a student-athlete on the Diving team. From UCLA, she transferred to Lesley University in Cambridge Massachusetts where she earned her bachelors in Counseling and minored in Psychology. Heather also ran on the Cross Country team at Lesley. She then returned to California and completed her masters in Education, Counseling and Guidance at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Prior to her position within the ASC, Heather worked at UCSF in the School of Medicine advising medical students and then as a College Advisor in the College of Letters and Science. As an Academic Advisor, Heather works hard to support students in their undergraduate journey to meet their academic, personal and athletic goals. Outside of her career Heather enjoys running, the outdoors, traveling, interior decorating, baking and hanging with family and friends.
