Academic Integrity & Compliance

UC Berkeley has a number of mechanisms in place to address academic integrity and NCAA compliance. Students are guided by the University Honor Code and the Student Code of Conduct.

The NCAA limits the amount of missed class time due to athletic competition. Additionally, Campus policy prohibits any undue influence by athletic representatives on the course progress and performance of student athletes enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley.

In cases where the instructor suspects academic impropriety on the part of a student-athlete, he/she may wish to contact the Center for Student Conduct and report the incident(link is external).  The instructor may also choose to contact the Faculty Athletic Representative, Oliver O'Reilly (external link), and/or the Director of the Athletic Study Center, Dr. Derek Van Rheenen.
