If a student's sanctioned travel events conflict with exams and significant class time, students are asked to make arrangements for conflicts with their professors and graduate student instructors.
Please consider some of these solutions
- Take the exam before departure
- Take the exam upon return
- Take an online asynchronous exam
- Drop exam and increase percentage of other exams/assignments
- Watch course capture during the trip
- Review posted lecture slides on bcourses
- Review lecture notes from a friend/classmate
- Turn in assignment/paper on time
- Turn in assignment/paper with granted extension
- Join class via zoom if offered and if the competition schedule permits
- Attend office hours the following week
Exam Proctoring and Scheduling
If none of the above options work for a particular situation, then exam proctoring can be used. The ASC staff are approved and willing to proctor exams after the student returns. Since most travel happens towards the end of the week, proctoring will be scheduled for the following Monday. Proctors and students will sign an academic integrity agreement prior to the administering of an exam.
