Academic Advisor

Mica oversees the Academic Advising program within the Athletic Study Center.  Academic Advisors guide student athletes toward holistic development, including exploration of academic interests while understanding and complying with University, College, and NCAA rules and requirements. Advisors provide tailored academic counseling to maximize student athlete potential and academic performance while balancing athletic and personal commitments.

Background

As a former international student-athlete from Shanghai, China, Mica obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Multicultural Education from University of Alaska- Fairbanks and her Master’s degree in Sport and Athletic Administration from Gonzaga University. During her two years at GU, Mica had internship opportunities working with student-athletes at both Arizona State University and Eastern Washington University. Prior to coming to Cal, Mica worked as an academic advisor at Eastern Washington University. Mica is passionate about providing academic support to student-athletes and helping student-athletes achieve their goals. Mica’s hobbies include watching volleyball and basketball games, playing basketball and pickleball, sunset watching and coffee shop hunting.
