Academic Support Coordinator
Kris coordinates the academic support provided by the ASC's Learning Specialists and Graduate Tutors.
Learning Specialist
Provides comprehensive academic support, such as time management, effective study skills, developmental writing, strategic reading, and assessment preparation. They also manage a caseload of Graduate Tutors, which also provide similar academic support to their own caseload of students, and possibly additional support for the Learning Specialists' cohort.
Background
Kris received her M.A. in Education (2015) through UC Berkeley’s Cultural Studies of Sport in Education program. During her time in the program she served as an Academic Coach for the football team and as the adviser of the Student Athlete Gay Straight Alliance. Prior to her time at UC Berkeley, Kris received her B.A. in Anthropology (2011) from Wellesley College and coached at an elementary school in San Jose, CA through the non-profit Playworks.
